आज सुबह जब पोस्ट लिखी (सुबह सुबह चार बजे उठ कर) तो यह अन्दाजा नहीं था कि यह एक बहस का रूप ले लेगी.हाँलाकि मंशा तो थी ही कि एक बहस हो. लेकिन आशा के विपरीत लोग आये और उन्होने बिना किसी पूर्वाग्रह के अपने विचार लिखे. कुछ लोगों ने जहाँ मेरी सोच से सहमति दिखायी वहीं अनुनाद जी ने और कुछ अन्य ने खुल कर असहमति दिखायी. मैं इस असहमति का स्वागत करता हूँ. मैं मानता हूँ कि हमारे लक्ष्य एक ही हैं …हाँ मार्ग अलग अलग. मैं भी यही चाहता हूँ कि हमारे देश का सारा तंत्र हिन्दी में चले लेकिन मेरे चाहने से कुछ नहीं होने वाला इसलिये जो परेशानी मैने झेली है कम से कम आने वाली पीढियां वह परेशानियाँ ना झेलें. इसलिये मेरा मानना अभी भी यही है कि वर्तमान परिस्थितियों में बिना अंग्रेजी सीखे अंग्रेजी का खात्मा नहीं किया जा सकता.
अनुनाद जी के विचारों से भी आप परिचित हों.जो उन्होने पिछ्ली पोस्ट पर दिये थे.
आपकी ये दोनो सोच
१) कि बारहवीं के बाद विज्ञान की पढ़ाई अंग्रेजी में इसलिये होती है कि हिन्दी में किताबें नहीं हैं;
२) कि हिन्दी में किताबें उपलब्ध कराने में पचास वर्ष और लग जायेंगे
दोनो से भी सहमत नहीं हुआ जा सकता। लगता है कि आप क्रमश:-विकास-प्रक्रिया (इवोलूशन) के मूल कांसेप्ट को ही नहीं समझते हैं।
अंग्रेजी में किताबें नहीं हैं क्योंकि उनकी मांग नहीं है (अर्थशास्त्र का सरल सिद्धान्त यहाँ काम कर रहा है) ; मांग इसलिये नहीं है कि हिन्दी के बजाय अंग्रेजी में पढ़ना अनिवार्य कर रखा गया है। मैं दावे के साथ कह सकता हूँ कि यदि हिन्दी में विषयों का पढ़ना अनिवार्य कर दिया जाय तो एक महीने के भीतर किसी भी विषय की पुस्तकें बाजार में होंगी।
आपका यह भी मानना कि हिन्दी के वजह से बच्चे पिछड़ जाते हैं, तथ्यों से दूर है। मैने भी बारहवीं तक पूर्णत: हिन्दी में पढ़ाई की। मुझे कभी भी नही लगा कि मै हिन्दी के कारण कभी पिछड़ गया।

कोई भी हिन्दी के कारण पिछड़ता नहीं है, अंग्रेजी के कारण पिछड़ता है। और इसी दुराचार का विरोध होना चाहिये। इस देश को आगे बढ़ाना है तो व्यक्ति के विषय के ज्ञान की परीक्षा ली जाय, न कि अंग्रेजी के ज्ञान की परीक्षा, जो कि आज हो रही है।
अंग्रेजी की पढ़ाई एक भाषा के रूप में करायी जाय ; जिसको जरूरी हो उसी को पढ़ायी जाय (किसी को राजदूत के रूप में रूस या चीन जाना है तो उसके लिये रूसी या चीनी महत्वपूर्ण है, न कि अंग्रेजी); चापरासी पद के लिये अंग्रेजी, क्लर्क के लिये अंग्रेजी, सैनिक के लिये अंग्रेजी… क्यों जरूरी है? क्या आपने सोचा है कि पूरा देश ज्ञान अर्जन के बजाय डिक्शनरी का रट्टा क्यों लगा रहा है? इसमें कितना करोड़ मानव-घंटा बर्बाद हो रहा है? कुछ शब्द आ गये तो ग्रामर का चक्कर, ग्रामर आ गया तो ‘फर्राटे अंग्रेजी बोलने’ का चक्कर, फर्राटे अंग्रेजी भी बोलना आ गया तो अमेरिकन या ब्रिटिश एक्सेंट में बोलने का चक्कर.. ये दुष्चक्र है जिसमें पूरे देश को झोंक दिया गया है।
और हाँ, यदि किसी ने अंग्रेजी के बल पर नौकरी हासिल कर ली (जैसा कि पूरे देश में हो रहा है) तो इसको देश का विकास के रूप में समझने की भूल मत कीजिये। इसका केवल इतना अर्थ है कि किसी ने किसी दूसरे का हक गलत बहाने (अंग्रेजी के ज्ञान) के कारण छीन लिया। विकास तब होता है जब इन्नोवेशन होता है; नागरिक विभिन्न छेत्रों में रचनात्मकता से भरपूर होते हैं। दूसरे देश के लोगों से पहले कुछ नया कर लिया जाता है आदि। और ये सब तभी सम्भव है जब लोग अपनी भाषा में सोचें, पढ़े, विचार-विमर्श करें। विदेशी भाषा (अंग्रेजी) में होते हुए हजारों सेमिनार मैने देखे हैं; लोग विचार-विनिमय के बजाय प्रश्न पूछने और उत्तर देने से भागते हुए नजर आते हैं। ऐसे सेमिनारों से खाक फायदा होगा?
इस देश को अंग्रेजी की गुलामी करते करीब दो सौ साल हो गये। किसी दूसरे देश से तुलना करते हुए विकास के आंकड़े तो बताइये। केवल रटे-रटाये मुहावरे दोहराने से काम न चलाइये।

I was going through this discussion of Hindi-English.
I do think that English is important. To become a developed country more globalization is must. Accept it or not, English is the international language.
Bye the way, all non english speaking country are now trying hard to have their citizens speak-in/know englisg. China, Russia are encouraging a lot on English in their contries,so do other countries..
Other point, learning more language only enhances your brain..it helps..If English becomes must in India, its a welcome thought.
I studied in Hindi till 12th ..till I left Almora..Thanks to my parents (who are no more now) who taught me English in my childhood.I have been in EU and US since 12 years and I know how important it is.
Thinking that learning English is ‘gulamee ka prateek’ is pointless. learning good from anyone is good. We should not be that nerrow.
Why to waste so much time/money/energy to have few books published in Hindi..we will never be able to have all the books in Hindi as they are in English anyway.
World has changed a lot sir..its more then language..

looks like everybody is in great confusion and got stuck here. Lets face it. how about people like you and me who came from hindi and are in sciences and technology and no more fear english, can do something about it.
may be we can stop this discussion here, anyway we have no control over education policy in our country. However, do something constructive, and write couple of good articles in hindi, about present day understanding of our subject, if it reaches to our current hindi speaking student generation. that will be great.

हिन्दी में किताबें नहीं है इसलिये अंग्रेजी में पढ़ाई जाती है, यह तो एकदम बचकाना तर्क है। अगर मांग होती तो किताबें पचास सालों नहीं पचास दिनों में लिखि जाती और छपी जाती।
जब हम चाहते ही नहीं हिन्दी को तो!!
अंग्रेजी जरूरी है पर हिन्दी की कीमत पर तो कतई नहीं!!

kakesh ji, I can understand why ppl dont want to understand because they feel whatever they have acheived no body else should get. the same people will send their children in the convent schools. why dont they send their chidren in govt. hindi medium colaages. HATHI KE DANT KHANEY KE AUR DIKHANEY KE AUR. they know the power of english. its a sochi samjhee sajish. here in US i have seen many such ppl who boast for hindi but they speak in english with their children.
english is not a fashion (english bashing is a fashion man) now its a neccesity.lets learn english and then improve our hindi by making english knowledge available in hindi.
ये तो पहले मुर्गी और अंडे वाली बात हुयी। हमको अंग्रेजी सीखते-पढ़ते करीब ३० साल हो गये लेकिन न वह मजा आता है अंग्रेजी में न अधिकार। यह सही है कि अंग्रेजी में अभी तमाम ज्ञान संचित है लेकिन किसी भी भाषा में किताबें-कापियां उपलब्ध न होने की बात कहकर यह बताना कि सब साधन हो जायेंगे तब पढ़ेंगे हिंदी जमती नहीं। बाकी भाषायें तो अभिव्यक्ति का माध्यम है। उनमें कुस्ती की बात सही नहीं है।
अब बताईये लोग कहते है की हिन्दी ब्लॉगर सभ्यता से बहस नहीं कर सकते, यहाँ का नजारा ही अलग है. जारी रहे विमर्श…

I would like to share in interesting incident I came across about six months ago in Brussels.
I was driving home..rush hours.. as always, I was approached by a group of young girls who wanted to clean my car galsses while I was stuck in traffic and expected few cents..I usally was ignoring them.
This day, I was playing a hindi song a bit loudly ( kazrare-kazrare ..) and one of windows was open. These girls rushed to my car and started to dance in the road..they appeared to have heard of this song. Much to my surprise, they sung few lines of many other hindi songs ..they were begging and having fun too..
Curious me, wanted to ask them more as to who they are..one of them said that she is from Romania. Then rather then asking me for a euro ..they collected about tem euros among themselves and wanted me to give them that CD of Hindi songs..no one, however, understood one word on hindi..
My traffic light went green and I had to go ..
I then did some basic research about them and also spoke to Belgian ministry about them…
They are Gypsies. They have Indian lineage. They are originally from Punjab/Sindh …Their lannguage has many ( more then thousand) hindi/Sanskrit works..and grammer is very near to Hindi/Sanskrit..they are poor..very poor..vert talented..born artists..good in music..their choice of dress is colourful..so much the same…even after more then 700 yeras..magic of genetic inheritance..

Now coming to the point:
I love travelling. Almost wherever I go ( most of EU countries, UK, US) its not difficult for me to recognize them..They are everywhere. You can see them playing somemusical instrument in metros, trams, trains and begging for money..My heart goes out..I feel they are somehow conected to me..
I do think that our government should do something about them. Help them to be recognized. We should also do some more research about their language ( Romani)..
Anyway we can talk about that …
